Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is the new president of the Malaysia Basketball Association (Maba) after winning the post uncontested at their annual general meeting yesterday.
King Sing is the Backbenchers Club chairman and also the Member of Parliament for Bintulu. He takes over from Datuk Loke Yuen Yow, who had been at the helm of Maba for the last 18 years.
Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Sing was elected as vice-president.
Veteran Maba official Datuk Yeoh Choo Hock vacated his post as secretary to become one of the four deputy presidents.
The other three deputy presidents were Tan Sri Tan Beng Tong, Datuk Lim Kok Cheong and Lim Ewe Jin.
The positions of secretary and assistant secretary, currently held by Tan See Wah, will be decided when the new council hold their first meeting in two weeks’ time.
