The Avril Lavigne concert in KL is ON – the organisers of the Avril Lavinge gig finally got the permit from the ministry just an hour ago – according to Datuk Chun Wai. The appeal was accepted by the ministry officials.

Guardian immediately contacted Lavigne for her comment on the approval. And she has this to say about Malaysia:

“They tend to, you know, sometimes not want Western artists in their country,” Lavigne explained. “I respect that, but at the same time there’s people that listen to music there and want to see their idols and stuff, so it’s all good: [I’ve] been approved by the government and [I’m] going to go put on a show and have fun.”

Last month Indonesian singer Inul Daratista’s concert at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil, has been cancelled after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) cancelled the permi concert both in JB and KL was canceled after PAS mullahs and religious extremist pressure.
