Trying to inject and rejuvenate declining support for Datuk Ariff Shah in Permatang Pauh Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak assured them of a fighting chance and not impossible to win.

He admitted that BN had the difficult task of competing against the election machinery of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, however victory for BN was not impossible.

“We have a fighting chance… we know we have an uphill battle but the impossible can happen.

“So, I want BN supporters not to think that we don’t have any chance of wresting the seat,” he told reporters here Saturday after visiting the four-day Education & Career Malaysia 2008 exhibition which began on Thursday.

On the BN by-election campaign, Najib said it went on smoothly and in terms of activities, he believed that BN had outdone the opposition. However, he said, the BN by-election machinery must double their efforts to keep up the momentum in strengthening BN’s position in Permatang Pauh.
