Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said Tuesday that Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s desire to form the government and become Prime Minister on Sept 16 was just an empty talk.
Kurup who lost the Pensiangan parliamentary seat following a High Court decision Monday, said Sabahans would be taken in by Anwar’s propaganda to give various privileges to the people there.
“All these will never happen because the people there have rejected him as their leader. What he has been saying is only an empty talk,” he told reporters here.
He said Anwar did not have any influence particularly in the Pensiangan constituency.
Meanwhile, Kurup said he had been given two weeks to appeal against the Kota Kinabalu High Court’s decision Monday which declared his election as Member of Parliament for Pensiangan without a contest during the March 8 polls null and void.
