Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said Anwar had done nothing for the people while he was a deputy prime minister, minister of finance and education minister.

The BN Backbenchers Club Chairman also refuted Anwar’s suggestion that once becoming the prime minister Najib would become a dictator and would curtail press freedom.

“The accusation is baseless and unfair. It comes even before Najib has a chance to show what he has planned for the nation,” said Tiong in a statement published by a local daily today.

Datuk Seri Tiong also described Anwar as someone who believed that he is the only one that can deliver, regardless of how dedicated others were.

In recent budget 2009 announcement, Najib allocated RM2 billion (out of the RM7 billion oil subsidy saving?) for the development of Chinese and Tamil schools according to Tiong.

The Bintulu MP said Anwar had not shown such dedication while he was the finance minister.

“Now he is talking like he has always care and love the people,” Tiong said.

Tiong hope people will rally their support behind Najib.
