Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Salcra) will make a pay out of RM50 million in dividends this year to some 16,000 scheme participants.

Its chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu anak Numpang said yesterday: “This is higher than the RM30.4mil dividend paid last year. In fact, this is SALCRA’s biggest ever dividend payout.”

“The amount included RM293 million already been given to scheme participants since the first pay out,” said Jabu.

Jabu who is also Salcra chairman said the current dividend will be paid in January and July next 2009.

As part of it corporate social responsibility Salcra allocated at total of RM250,000 to five organisations and NGOs – Sarawak Orphan Welfare Association (Peryatim), Penan Welfare Community, St Luke Church in Sri Aman, DBNA Sri Aman and Chinese Charitable Organisation.
