Deputy MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has confirmed that he gave a police statement Wednesday morning in regard to his comments on Malay supremacy (ketuanan Melayu) recently.

He said he gave the statement at the Sunway police station at 9.15 am.

“It lasted for 41 minutes,” he told reporters at Wisma MCA, here.

Dr Chua courted controvesy when he was alleged to have questioned Malay rights and privileges at an event in Sunway on Friday, which prompted numerous groups including the Young Malay Graduates Movement to lodge police reports against him and demand an apology as well as RM2 million in compensation.

However, he denied this saying that his remarks had been taken out of context by some groups with vested interests. BERNAMA
