Describing Jabu as ‘childish’ The Broken Shield blogger Joseph Tawie yesterday shielded Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) and Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (Sadia) against the Sarawak deputy chief minister recent attacks.

In a blog posting on Wednesday Broken Shield quoted Dr John Brian who is a social activist, blogger and motivational speaker as saying:

“We do not want to politicize SDNU by supporting this and by not supporting that.” “We want to concentrate in preserving and promoting Adat Dayak and Culture. That is our priority.”

SADIA another Iban based NGO also defended itself against Jabu who is also Salcra’s Chairman attacked.

Its secretary general, Nicholas Mujah said that: “SADIA had never criticized SALCRA; in fact SALCRA being a voluntary member of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) was the “best” authority to solve the plight of natives in respect of NCR land issues”.

According to Broken Shield Mujah also questioned whether it was right for Jabu to distribute SALCRA participants’ money of RM50, 000 to the Resident and District Office, Miri, in order to initiate a Penan Website and another RM50, 000 to St. Luke’s Church building fund in Simanggang.

On Wednesday, while visiting Miri Jabu said he was sad that SDNU and SADIA have not given any word of praises to Salcra’s successes despite the fact that majority of its participants were Iban communities.
