Sarawak Chief Minister political secretary and also Sarawak BN Backbenchers’ Club president Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) was not a threat to the state Barisan Nasional in the next state election.

“PKR’s is not a threat to the state BN party as we have our own ways of managing the state. BN still enjoy stronger support among the rural voters,” said Hamzah, as quoted by Borneo Post on Tuesday.

In fact, according to Karim, they are the one that focusing on wrestling back Padungan – sole PKR seat in the state.

Karim however acknowledged that BN would need to work hard to reclaim the seat from PKR.

Karim added “PKR has talked much about toppling Sarawak BN government. But that is nothing but mere rhetoric,” he said commenting on Anwar’s recent statement ‘to battle’ Sarawak in the next state election.

Karim was officiating Aidil Adha Korban on behalf of Deputy Minister of Tourism Dato Sri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib) at Kampung Tunku in Petra Jaya on Monday.

A total of 22 head of cattle were sacrificed and the meat distributed to over 30 villages in Samarahan and Kuching divisions.
