Global Upline Sdn Bhd the contractor for SJK Chung Hua No. 2 in Tabuan Jaya, Kuching yesterday unlocked the main gate to the school after Sarawak United People Party (SUPP) agreed to settle half of the nearly RM3 million owed to the company.
According to Global Upline advisor Tan Sri Ting Pek Khiing the estimated cost of building the relocated school was RM6.2 million of which RM1 million was borne by him and wife Puan Sri Datuk Wong Sui Chuo.
SUPP on the other hand have agreed to fund the remaining balance understand to be nearly RM3 million. Bintulu Edition understands that SUPP had paid Global Upline half the amount owed.
“I am pleased with the party’s commitment,” Ting said after handing over the school gate key and padlocked to Chan yesterday reported Borneo Post on Friday.
Ting as quoted by the local daily said: “he locked the school gate because the school management board was irresponsible and not because he had anything against Chan”.
“I have no agenda against SUPP or its president Dr Chan,” he said.
