Parti Keadilan Rakyat is gaining a momentum in wooing Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) supporters (and members?) especially those aligned to Sng to the party.
Gabriel Adit Demong who recently joined PKR together with more than 12,000 supporters on Monday received another 3,000 new membership application forms to join PKR in Sibu, reports Borneo Post.
Jimmy Donald a former Sri Aman MP who is yet to join PKR said he expected at least 20,000 former PRS members are set to join party.
Handing over the application forms to Adit was Peter Goh, former deputy chairman of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Nangka division. Joining him were former chairmen of PRS Pelawan (Steven Kalai), Bukit Assek (Tuba Aga) and Bawang Assan (Bajai Serang).
Adit said support for PKR throughout Sarawak was growing as people wanted change. The party are setting up sub-branches in Sibu areas namely at Aik Dee, Naman, Pak, Menyan, Dudong, Salim, Lada and Usaha Jaya.
Goh said Dudong constituency has about 24,000 voters comprising 50 per cent Chinese, 45 per cent Iban and five per cent Malay.
Besides giving weight to the on-going membership recruitment drive, he said they would be drawing up programmes and activities to further strengthen the party.
More than 400 PKR supporters attended the function.
Among those present at the function were PKR Sarawak deputy chairman Wan Zainal, vice-chairman Nicholas Bawin, former MP for Lubok Antu Jawah Gerang and Munan Laja.
