As Israel’s Operation Cast Lead against Hamas in Gaza entered its sixth day, the Israeli Air Force bombed a mosque in the village of Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Holfe Mosque was used as a launching ground for rockets, a meeting place for Hamas terrorists, as well as storage facility for arms and a communications center.

Palestinians reported that the IAF carried out five strikes just before midnight Thrusday, Israel Radio reported.

In an earlier attack in Jabalya, the IAF killed Nizar Rayyan, a Hamas military commander who was a sworn enemy not only of Israel, but also of the Palestinian Authority and its president, Mahmoud Abbas.

15 people were killed in the strike that liquidated Rayyan, including his four wives.
