Bintulu finally has it own radio broadcast after more than four decades following the soft launching of Bintulu FM on 31 December 2008.
Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) representative Zulbairi who is tasked overseeing the radio station operations when contacted on Monday said the official launching of the station expected to be held next month.
“We currently broadcast at FM 97.5 frequency and those as far as Mukah can listen to our broadcast,” he said.
According to Zulbairi despite being new, the station has been receiving several hundred calls daily from its enthusiastic listeners.
The radio station starts it broadcasting from 9a.m to 7p.m daily – alternating between two languages – Bahasa Melayu and Iban throughout the entire broadcasting period.
“Listeners can call-in to the station at 086 – 331 017 and 086 – 330 761 during the call-in session,” he told Bintulu.Org.
