Another story – of the never ending fight for Perak. Karpal Sing DAP national chairman said the decision of the Perak State Assembly Rights and Privilages Committee to suspend Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and his six council members must be endorsed by the state assembly.

“The Perak constitution provides that when the assembly is not in session, the Speaker can refer complaints to the committee of privileges, which he heads. If he finds a prima facie case, any findings or decisions must be reported to the assembly.

“It is my view that this means that the speaker must refer the matter to the state assembly for debate and endorsement”.

Perak new MB (or is he the second MB as Nizar had not resigned?) meanwhile had contemplating a legal suit to resolve the impasse. Tit for tat of sort.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said that he and the six executive councillors (excos) in the state government will take legal action to resolve their suspension from attending Perak State Assembly sittings.

“For now, we will continue with our duties as usual,” he said in commenting on the action by Perak State Assembly Speaker, V. Sivakumar in suspending him and the excos from attending the sittings (18th months for him and the excos 12 months).

“What is important is the validity of the action by Sivakumar which came with immediate effect and lying that all of us did not provide any explanation regarding the complaint filed against us to the Rights and Privileges Committee yesterday.

“There is no question of us having problems attending the sittings because the issue now is how he has acted,” he told reporters after attending a Farmers Day function that was officiated by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed, here Thursday.

In supporting Dr Zambry’s action, Prime Minister described Sivakumar’s decision to suspend newly-appointed (not elected as the said) Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and six executive council members as “ridiculous” and “disrespectful” of the Sultan and the state constitution.

What about BN disrespectful of Rakyat’s call for a state election?
