Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Pte Ltd will team up with local property developer Global Upline again to manage its proposed RM400 million 4-star Sheraton hotel in Miri city, according to a news report today.
The proposed 22-storey, 500-rooms (148 apartment rooms, 352 suites) hotel will be built on a 13-acres piece of prime land in the city center and expected to be operational in the middle of 2011.
“The new hotel will have a 4,500 capacity exhibition hall or 1500 capacity banquet hall, complete with state of the arts audio visual equipments”.
“Other facilities include in-door sports, health and fitness center and swimming pools,” said Ting Pek Khiing when unveiling the plan to the media today.
Earlier this year, Global Upline launched Kuching city newest hotel the Four Points by Sheraton located near the Kuching International Airport.
