Ismail Mohd Hanis, 47 is Bintulu Division new Resident succeeding Dr Razali Abon who will be promoted as Human Resources and Quality director in the Chief Minister’s Department.
Prior to his current appointment, Ismail who is hailed from Kuching was the Acting Resident of Sibu, which he served for more than two years.
Met by local media in a farewell and welcoming function held at Bintulu Resident’s Office on Thursday, Ismail said his priority would be to develop Bintulu tourism potential.
“Last year the Resident’s Office organized 142 activities. This year I’m planning to do the same if not more and tourism sector would be my top priority,” he said.
In his 24-year of public service Ismail had served in Miri as Deputy Resident, Samarahan (development officer), Sri Aman (administrative officer) and a stint as assistant SAO in peninsular Malaysia.
