The official date of Gawai Dayak holidays is next Monday, June 1, but already in several towns throughout Sarawak halted for this public holidays.

Schools in Kapit Division the Dayak Iban heartland had started their holidays since Thursday, May 24th to allow students and teachers heading back home for the Gawai holidays.

‘Tuak’ is a must serve drink in this joyous harvest festival. Visiting any Dayak longhouses during this festive season would be a memorable one.
