Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has asked Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to explain each issue that was raised in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) audit report according to a news report.
The Prime Minister said this when asked to comment on the PKFZ report after he chaired the Umno supreme council meeting yesterday.
“I have asked Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat to provide answers on every question raised by any party on the audit report. You can refer to him,” Bernama quoted Najib as saying.
“He will provide all the explanations,” he told reporters after chairing the Umno Supreme Council meeting here Friday.
When asked to speak in his capacity as Finance Minister, Najib reiterated that the press was to refer to Ong for clarification.
The cost of the project had risen to RM7.453 billion, including interest costs, compared with its original price tag of RM1.957 billion.
BN Backbenchers Club president also Bintulu Member of Parliament has not been available for comment as he currently traveling around his constituency in Bintulu for the Gawai Dayak Festival – a public holidays in Sarawak.
However his company group deputy CEO Datuk Faizal Abdullah said the report which was made public on Thursday was “not done in good faith” and Kuala Dimensi had no choice but to defend itself.
Faizal said they will sue Port Klang Authority or PricewaterhouseCoopers for the ‘negative’ report.
