Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak reminded the Dayak communities to be grateful of Barisan Nasional government efforts especially in bringing development projects to them.

“The ‘rakyat’ should not fall into opposition parties tactics as theirs are nothing but empty promises,” said Najib in a speech at Rumah Manai Jalak, Nanga San Panjai, Lubok Antu on Thursday.

At the function, Najib announced RM75.13 million worth of infrastructure projects for Lubok Antu including RM10 million for Lubok-Bulo road re-surfacing project under the current year and another RM3 million for 2010.

“Government through Rural Development Ministry will also provide RM3.4 million restoration projects involving some 233 longhouses in Lubok Antu areas.”

“RM58 million will be allocated to build new Lubok Antu police station building and another RM1.83 million for Lubok Antu CIQ,” Najib said.

The Prime Minister also praised Lubok Antu voters for electing Malcom Mussen Lamoh as their representative in the recent Batang Ai, state by-election.

“I thanked Batang Ai hero Malcom for winning Batang Ai and don’t worry we will always behind you to ensure continuous development projects for Batang Ai people,” Najib said.

Najib also praised Malcom for making the right decision switching from being a civil servant to a “wakil rakyat” which would enable him to service the people better.
