An early morning blaze killed a woman and her three-month-old baby at their home in Jalan Pudu early yesterday.

It is learnt that Lee Yoke Kun, 28, woke her family up at 1.15am to alert them of the fire, the Star reports.

Her husband Lee Hon Tiao, 29, a fishball noodle seller, when met at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, said that his wife woke him, his parents and their three-year-old son Park Lean when their house was engulfed in flames.

Yoke Kun was found still holding on to her baby in one of the rooms. It is believed that the woman and her baby were overwhelmed by the smoke.
