A teacher at a rural primary school in Sebauh reported to have whacked his students for ‘talking’ during an English lesson. According to Sarawak Update:

Two primary three boys caught talking during an English lesson end up with cuts that require stitches at Bau Hospital after their heads were knocked with a wooden broom by a teacher at about noon on Monday.

According to the father of a victim, Lui alias Awi, said his son aged 9 was caught talking with a classmate when the teacher in his 30s took a wooden broom and whacked them both on the head. He said his son was whacked twice thus there was two wounds on the head.
