The multi-million new state of the art - state government administrative complex in Betong.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak has uncovered government projects in the state where up to 60 per cent of their funding were diverted elsewhere.This startling finding was revealed by MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Datuk Zakaria Jaffar here yesterday, but he did not divulge the extent of such abuses.

“Based on the investigations the Sarawak MACC carried out on specific and real cases (projects), only about 40 per cent of the allocations were spent while the remaining 60 per cent is ‘bocor’ (leaked out),” he said.

He said this at a press conference after closing a corruption prevention seminar at a hotel here. Continue reading here
