MCA leadership crisis unlikely to be resolved any time soon following report that MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek assertion it wasn’t ‘the best solution’.
He said “There could be no contests even if fresh elections take place”.
“We have discussed that fresh polls may not end the crisis and I have said it many times — the most important thing is how we handle the crisis.”
“No contests in fresh elections” — seen as a move to keep the status quo — would be the best way to resolve the ongoing leadership tussle, but refused to explain further, national daily NST online reported.
Dr Chua also revealed that 13 elected CC members, including himself, ready to resign from the central body to pave the way for fresh poll.
But stressed the CC members should not be pressured to quit and urged party members to stop speculating on a January date for fresh elections.
