An Indonesian religious teacher claimed to have enlisted supernatural forces in the fight against corruption on Wednesday, allegedly sending an army of 1,000 genies to protect the International Anti-Corruption Day rally in Jakarta.

Kyai Haji Muzakkin from Dzikrus Syifa Islamic Boarding School in Lamongan, East Java, said he wanted to help the corruption fight in a unique way.

“This morning we sent a thousand genies to the demonstration in Jakarta. They were led by Ghulam Akhmad, an Egyptian genie who once possessed my student,” Muzakkin said, according to Kompas.com.

“It was just my way to participate and support the demonstrators and the government in the fight against corruption through another dimension,” he said.

Muzakkin claimed all the genies were trained professionals, including social experts and religious experts. If a rally participant was possessed or if somebody tried to create a riot, his genies were ready to stop them, he said.

“Don’t let the commemoration and the fight be smeared by those who want to provoke the (corruption) situation. A thousand Muslim genies are ready to secure the rally,” Muzakkin said. — JG
