Serial party hopper Gabriel Adit Demong had officially joined four months old political party Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) according to media reports.

The Ngemah state assemblyman who earlier this year quit Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) said to be appointed as the Penang based PCM’s Sarawak chairman.

Adit said he quit PKR as he didn’t believe the party capable of unseating Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sarawak and hope PCM can provide better service to the people.

“After assessing PKR, I don’t feel that they are capable of taking over Sarawak from the ruling Barisan Nasional in the next polls,” he said, state Chinese daily – United Daily News on Friday.

“I hope PCM would provide a better service to the people.”

Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) reported to have nearly 5,000 members in the country and claimed several of its sponsors were BN members.

Adit’s political experience was said to be a factor of him being lured to join the party which will be officially launched next year.

Gabriel Adit former colleagues and Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian said it would be difficult for Adit to convince his supporters that PCM is a better alternative to PKR.

However Baru Bian said PKR would have no problem working with PCM if the party subscribe to its principles and manifesto.
