Pakatan Rakyat (PR) had lined-up some 71 high caliber candidates capable of challenging Barisan Nasional comes next state polls according to Anwar during his brief visit to Kuching on Sunday.

“We already have approximately 71 high caliber, smart candidates that can be trusted to lead the ‘rakyat’ towards development one day,” said Anwar.

“These people are capable of defeating BN which is lead by Taib Mahmud and Jabu in the next state elections.”

Anwar also said he has full confident in state Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chief, Baru Bian to lead the party in seat negotiation with it loosely alliance- Democratic Action Party (DAP).

PKR and DAP has been in a tussle – described as ‘war’ by local media and bloggers over seat allocation. DAP reported to be have demanded for more seats given the party long history in Sarawak – a demand that irked both state and federal PKR leaders.

However, it remain to be seen how Baru Bian and newly appointed DAP state leader Wong Ho Leng resolve the issue – that was often the source of public squabbles between former DAP leader Chong Chieng Jin and Dominique Ng.
