At least four churches around Malaysia capital city Kuala Lumpur were fire-bombed on Thursday night leaving one – Metro Tabernacle Church badly gutted.

However, hours later Malaysia police chief Musa Hassan denied news of the attack on the other three churches outside Kuala Lumpur.

“It’s a lie,” the police chief told reporters at a news conference on Friday, while showing them the purported SMS of the news.

“I received an SMS today … ‘Please remove any rosaries and religious articles in your car. They are smashing cars with Christians objects. There are protests going on in PJ, Shah Alam, and Bangsar.’

Musa warned the public not to believe rumours from SMSes and the internet. The IGP also threatening to use draconian Internal Security Act (ISA) in an attempt to stop media from reporting on the incidents.
