According to Simon the house was built with the help of his father in-law, passers-by and was completed within four months.

It was made of mainly of woods, straw bales, plastic sheet, lime plaster, turf and mud.

“The house was built with maximum regard for the environment,” he said.

“This building is one part of a low-impact or permaculture approach to life … about living in harmony with both the natural world and ourselves, doing things simply and using appropriate levels of technology.”
