Both UMNO and PKR has yet to announce their respective candidate in the upcoming 10th parliamentary by-elections at Hulu Selangor.
However rumours already swell on the blogosphere that PKR will be fielding former cabinet minister, maverick politician Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.
Quoting party insiders, Free Malaysia Today said PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim has acknowledged that the former law minister is the best candidate to retain the seat.
“Zaid is a recognisable face. Everyone knows him and he is quite popular with the non-Malays as well. Anwar is aware of this.
“Furthermore, Zaid is seen as a principled politician, since he was willing to resign as minister. People respect him for this,” said the insider according to FMT.
Barisan Nasional is set to to field MIC deputy president Datuk G. Palanivel despite objection from certain parties in UMNO.
