Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas (MLNG) staffs who participated in the cleaning up efforts.

More than 50 personnels of Malaysia Liquified Natural Gas (MLNG), Bintulu took few hours out of their busy schedule to clean up rubbish strewn along Tanjung Batu road on Friday.

The Bintulu-based oil and gas company said they initiated a campaign called ‘love our beach’ an effort to help instill awareness among members of the public on the important of caring for the environment particularly popular spots along Tanjung Batu beach.

“There should an awareness in each of us to care for the environment as it not only for us but also for our future generation,” said Zahari Zakaria, MLNG senior officer who participated in the cleaning up program.

The program which was also part of MLNG corporate social responsibility initiatives managed to remove more 60kg of rubbish strewn all over Tanjung Batu.

Its Human Resources manager, Tn Hj Zaidan A Hadi expressed his gratitude to all staffs participating in the program.

He later presented five rubbish bins to Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) representative on behalf of MLNG, a subsidiary of the national oil corporation Petronas.

The bins will be placed at various strategic locations along Tanjung Batu road.
