Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin suggested to Bintulu Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Tiong to divert some of the profits derived from Port Klang Free Trade Zone contract to dredge Kemena river.

“Should divert some profits from PKFZ there. RT @staronline: Bintulu MP wants Kemena River dredged to avert flooding,” the Rembau MP tweeted.

Khairy Jamaluddin tweets immediately after seeing news report of Tiong request for allocation to dredge Kemena river.

The tweet apparently his immediate response to Tiong call for federal government allocations to dredge heavily silted Kemena river.

Tiong said he would raise the matter with Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas.

“River users have already complained about the difficulty in navigating through the river due to siltation and this is not a good sign. Something needs to be done urgently,” he said according to Bernama report today.
