A usually jam-packed beach spot in Bintulu, Tanjung Batu, was quieter, it was a Saturday, as fewer visitors throng the area because of the current monsoon season.

The rough sea, making the beach no longer safe for family sea sports activities – swimming and bathing. Sarawak Meteorological Department said the Northeast Monsoon which just started will continue till early February next year.

The Department said, the sea surrounding Bintulu will experience unpredictable weather condition with waves rises as high as 3.5 meter – making it dangerous for sea sports and smaller boats.
