Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has ordered a nationwide survey on all structures and homes built on agriculture land to see if they are at risk from landslides.

He said the survey would determine the safety aspects of buildings in relation to their proximity to hillside slopes and based on this, notices would be issued to the homeowners to take appropriate action.

“We will issue the notices but ultimately the landowners must make a choice or risk exposing themselves to life-threatening dangers,” he said after visiting the disaster site in Felcra Semungkis here yesterday.

He said although the law permitted landowners to build structures or homes on agricultural land, there were guidelines to follow.
