Google just launched a new home page today that features minimal changes – like smaller logo, top navigation now more visible with dark background.
“We’re working on a project to bring you a new and improved Google experience, and over the next few months, you’ll continue to see more updates to our look and feel. Even our classic homepage is getting a bit of a makeover,” Chris Wiggins, Google Creative Director announced in a blog post.
Wiggins said Google previous home page was ‘terribly cluttered’ – but to us was perfectly fine.
However we agree the new home page does have a more pleasantly minimalist feel, with links being moved to the top and bottom of the page, rather than hanging awkwardly in a limbo two-thirds of the way down.
The changes were not only to its home page but also the search results, which Google incorporates in the search – is ‘voice’.
Google search does ‘speak now’ – if you have microphone hook up to your pc and laptop.
Wiggins explained the new home page is created to improve overall users experience when using Google as it is now more focus, elasticity and effortlessness.
