Bintulu as many part of Sarawak during the brief monsoon break will be experiencing scattered thunderstorms late in the evening till early morning this week according to Sarawak Meteorological Department.

“The change in wind direction will create more humidity in the air and also rain,” said Azlai Taat an officer at Sarawak Meteorological Department.

But Azlai said, the dry season will be expected till September.

The prolong dry season affecting the daily activities of thousands in Bintulu.

The residents of Rumah Ado – located some 80km from Bintulu – had been facing acute water shortage over the last few months.

This forcing some of them drinking water from the polluted Kakus river which have floating toilets dotting the river and a logging camp on it bank.
