A Johor Bahru-bound bus plunged into a ditch at KM19, Jalan Ayer Hitam earlier today, reports said.
Three people, one of them a Cambodian tourist, suffered serious injuries while 22 others had minor cuts after the express bus they were travelling in lost control and plunged into a drain, Star reported.
The national news agency Bernama reported there were twenty-five passengers were onboard the express bus when it when it emerged from the Kulaijaya toll junction, only to skid, hit a barrier and come to a muddy end of KM19 Jalan Ayer Hitam.
The crash occurred about 4.40am.
Northern Johor Bahru police deputy chief Superintendent Akhir Ishak said three of the passengers were seriously hurt while the rest sustained minor injuries.
One of those seriously injured and warded at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital was identified as P. Kogilawani, 30.
Akhir said the 45-year-old bus driver was detained to facilitate investigations into the incident.
