Malindo Air flight OD1027 from Kota Kinabalu was the first plane made the historic touched down at klia2 at approximately 12.05am with 110 passengers on board.

Malaysia Airports reported a smooth opening for both commercial and operations, with the first arrival and the first departure flights from Malindo Air and Cebu Pacific Air – two of the five airlines to begin operations at klia2 today.
Cebu Pacific Airways flight 5J502 to Manila was the first departing flight from klia2 at 1.20am, with 147 passengers on board. Passengers of this flight were also the first to check-in at klia2.
Passengers were greeted with souvenirs upon arrivals and departures by Deputy Minister of Transport YB Dato’ Ab. Aziz Kaprawi, accompanied by Malaysia Airports’ Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah and Managing Director Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad.
