Sibu strongman Datuk Sri Wong Soon Koh likely to quit Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) according to reliable sources.

Wong is forming a new party called ‘TERAS’ or ‘Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak’ together with 11 elected representatives – 4 formerly from SUPP, 6 formerly from the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) and a former Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) deputy president George Lagong, who is Pelagus assemblyman.

Among the six former SPDP members joining Wong said to be Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom.

  • SPDP : State Assemblymen/women (4) –  Tasik Biru Datuk Peter Nansian, Marudi Datuk Sylvester Entri, Batu Danau Paulus Palu Ngumbang and Bekenu Rosey Yunus.
  • SPDP: Member of Parliments (2) – Baram Anyie Ngau, Saratok Tan Sri William Mawan
  • SUPP: State Assemblymen (4) – Bawang Assan iaitu Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, Bengoh, Datuk Jerip Susil, Opar Ranum Mina and Engkelili Johnichal Rayong Ngipa.
  • SWP: State Assemblymen (1) – Pelagus George Lagong

Teras would apply to become a Barisan Nasional component party.
