A wooden rented house at Jalan Drahman Keria village, Sarikei razed down to ashes by fire at around 11.20am yesterday said the village chief Sihon Ujang.
It was already too late to save the house as Sarikei Fire & Rescue department reported to received an emergency call at only 12.25pm, more than hour later.
“When we arrived at the scene almost 80 percent of the house already destroyed by the fire. We could only prevent the fire from catching a nearby house,” Abang Johari told Utusan Borneo.
He said the department is still investigating what trigger the fire. No injury was reported in the mishap.
