KFC parent company QSR Brands denies rumour spreading on social media alleging chickens serve at its outlets including one at Medan Jaya Bintulu as not halal.

“All foods serve at our outlets are certified halal and safe for consumptions including those at KFC Medan Jaya,” QSR executive Nur Fariza binti Hamzah said when contacted today for verification by Bintulu Weekly.

According to a screenshot of comment posted by a Facebook user Manai Baiee on Aduan Rakyat Bintulu Facebook group, purportedly alleged a JAIS officer said KFC Medan Jaya is not serving ‘halal‘ chicken at the outlet.

QSR Brands which also owned Pizza Hut, RasaMas and Kedai Ayamas said it views the rumour seriously and will investigate the matter thoroughly.

Singapore Chicken Rice (SCR) Bintulu and a newly open restaurant Dinner World at Bintulu Sentral were also allegedly serving non-halal chicken.

Both companies have yet to reply our emails seeking their statements on the rumours.
