This is how Tanjung Batu beach look like in the early 1990’s – pretty much natural, rather pristine – recalls Edward Nicholl, former British expatriate who had a brief stints working in Bintulu.
If Edward were to come back, he would struggling to locate the exact spot where these photos were taken. So much had changed over the decades.
The miles long public beach it was once, now tuck in a tight spot, only meters long between two massive private sea reclamation projects in Bintulu.
Thank Edward Nicholl for bringing us back the good old Tanjung Batu beach!
By the way if you know Sungau Buda, Wennie and Uthan Chuat, Edward Nicholl says ‘hello’ to you guys.
