This (see photos below) is the ‘added’ peril of driving along the Bakun road that largely unknown to outside world.

This incident was reported by Nilloc Sean while on his way to Bintulu from Belaga yesterday.

Over the years several deaths reported along this treacherous road that were directly / indirectly blamed on irresponsible logging truck drivers who illegally ply the Bakun road.

It had been highlighted in the local and national media [see here in The Star newspaper], including in August House, but to no avail.

It’s an open secret who ‘owned’ these logging companies, public do aware of their cozy relationship with several politicians in the State.

Perhaps because of the ‘cozy-linked’ the enforcement agencies seems to have given them a ‘cozy pass’ as well to operate on the public road despite fully aware of the threat they pose to other road users.

Thank to Nilloc for the tip-off and pics.

The driver did aware of the logs on the back of the truck was endangering other road users, but he kept on driving till the log let loose.
