The Borneo Post news of Sarawak getting three more hospitals today is not entirely true. In fact we’ve been getting these new hospitals since 2011.

The paper has been republishing stories about the so call ‘new’ hospitals since April 15, 2011 – see here New Lawas hospital to be completed within three years – Health Minister and here – RM1.1 Billion for Upgrading Health Facilities in Sarawak.

What’s new in the above story actually – ‘now, the Assistant Minister said Petrajaya and Sri Aman still under planning! Then, while campaigning in Sri Aman they (State & Federal Governments) said the two hospitals will be completed in 2016!

The story then was very convincing as they back it up with facts and figures – eg.’ “to be build under the 10th Malaysia Plan with approved allocations: Petrajaya Hospital costing RM500 million; Sri Aman Hospital (RM200 million) and Lawas Hospital (RM80 million).
