Miri city will become the host of the 51st Malaysia Day celebration scheduled to be held at the Miri City Fan on September 16.
Sarawak Public Utilities Minister Datuk Awang Tengah Ali, who is the 51st Malaysia Day celebration organising committee chairman, said side events such as cultural performance, would start from 7 pm followed by the main event at 8 pm.
“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud are among the dignitaries to attend the ceremony on that night,” he said after chairing the second organising committee meeting today.
He said this year’s Malaysia Day celebration theme is the same as that of Merdeka Day, “Malaysia: Here Lies a Love”. – Bernama
