Sarawak Chief Minister, who is also Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) chairman, urged the public in Bintulu to alert the authority of any problems including traffic congestion.
“ If you have any complaints on BDA tell me directly, because I’m the higher up (chairman) at BDA. I will ensure it gets done,” he said at a Hari Raya gathering at Jepak Mosque, Monday.
Citing the uncollected rubbish issues highlighted by Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing recently, Adenan said he immediately directed BDA general manager Datu Mohidin Ishak to resolve the matter within seven days.
He advised complainants to submit evidence, such as photographs, if possible, so that action could be taken promptly on their complaints.
The Chief Minister said dredging of Sungai Sebiew and Sungai Kemena will start soon to alleviate flooding problems in flash flood prone areas.
However dredging the rivers would not completely end flooding in Bintulu, if the drainage system in some areas were not well managed, Adenan said.
Several areas in Bintulu were inches deep under water yesterday after nearly two hours of torrential rains.
Among the worst hit areas was in Sungai Plan and Taman Putrajaya.
