Government phasing out subsidized health care to foreigners in the country.

Government to phase out subsidized health care to foreigners beginning January 2015.

Currently foreigners (workers and students) in Malaysia enjoy subsidized health care services up to 40 percent according to Health Ministry.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam said this meant they would be paying double the charges they are paying now from 2017, Bernama reported.

Phasing out the subsidies will save up to RM100 million annually.
