A 40-year-old man was slashed with a machete after he refused to eat – some exotic dish during a meal.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the incident to Harian Metro, saying the host become livid after the victim refused to eat the special meal – a monitor lizard dish.
In the 9 am incident, the victim suffered head injuries after being slashed with a machete by his host, who are residents of the longhouse in Niah, Miri.
A report was later lodged at the Batu Niah police station, according to Ringgit.
He said the 32-year-old suspect was arrested by police at 5.30pm yesterday. Police also retrieved a machete believed to be used in the incident.
“The case will be investigated under 324 of the Penal Code,” he said
