Man went amok at Digi outlet over RM4 daily deduction

A man who vandalized Digi Telecommunication service centers in Sibu yesterday had been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations into the case.

The suspect who works at a local nightspot is remanded under Section 506 and Section 427 of the Penal Code, for committing criminal intimidation and arson.

The remand order issued by Sibu Magistrate Saiful Sayoti today, reports Berita Harian.

CCTV recordings of the incidents circulating online show a man rushed out from a four wheel-drive and started smashing the telco outlet glass wall, displays table.

After smashing the shop, he then proceeded to another Digi outlet at Jalan Keranji.

According to Sibu police chief, Saiful Bahari Abdullah the incident started at 1.45PM yesterday at Medan Mall.

Saiful said police early investigations revealed the suspect went amok because his mobile prepaid credit was mysteriously deducted RM4 each daily.

If convicted, the suspect could be sentenced up to two years or fine or both at once.

The suspect brought to Sibu Magistrate for remand order. (Berita Harian)
