We had read the news of the proposed bridge linking Kampung Jepak to Bintulu town center since Tun Taib was still the Chief Minister few years ago.
Then, we were told a railway would also be built to link Tanjong Manis to Bintulu as part of the SCORE development plans for the coastal regions.
Perhaps, the railway part is nothing more than a paper proposal, but the bridge linking Jepak to Bintulu town center probably will be materialized.
Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari announced RM250 million allocation for the new bridge after the chairing Bintulu Development Authority’s board meeting yesterday, according to BDA General Manager Pn Rodziah Morshidi.
However, we will have to wait for State Planning Unit and Public Works Department to divulge details of the proposed bridge.
The RM250 million allocation is from State coffer.
