The previous Maybank MY app can still be used until the third quarter of this year according to the bank, partly to facilitate the transition of existing users to the new app.
The latest app has been redesigned to be simpler, easier to use, with minimalistic design and a high-definition user interface.
The other improvements include a streamlined transaction history, mobile prepaid reload within the app and support for fingerprint login.
Users of smartphones with a fingerprint sensor, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the iPhone 5S or later, will be able to instantly login on their phone.
It is also more secure as you won’t be able to access the app from a rooted or jailbroken device.
The app ties your device to your Maybank2u access to give you the assurance and control that only you can access your account.
It currently supports billings from TM, Celcom, Astro and Digi. Users can expect more service providers to be added to the list moving forward.
